ONCE THEY’RE GONE, THEY’RE GONE
Gold-plated bronze brick cast and electroplated in tribute to the subterranean gold vaults sitting beneath the City of London.
This brick represents the windowless perimeter wall and original brick vaults of The Bank of England, home to one of the world’s largest gold reserves. This heavily guarded underground repository is protected by a massive defensive wall - beautifully detailed and built, but sadly one of the few surviving elements of Sir John Soane's famous building. Walk the perimeter walls today to admire the scale of the structure and classical detailing.
Cast in solid LG2 bronze by Maybrey Reliance. Electroplated by Cosmo in North London who have worked on items displayed in landmark locations such as Windsor Castle, Kensington Palace and Cafe Royale. Each brick comes with a numbered edition card.
