patinated bronze brick
Solid sand cast bronze brick with patination
LIMITED EDITION x 360
PRE-ORDER NOW - ONCE THEY’RE GONE, THEY’RE GONE
Solid bronze brick cast and patinated in tribute to the statue of Sir Isaac Newton sitting amongst the iconic red brick walls of the British Library.
This brick represents both Eduardo Paolozzi’s patinated bronze sculpture and the handmade red bricks of the library courtyard, where the combination of materials conveys a sense of permanence and stability upon entering one of the world’s largest libraries.
The statue depicts a crouching Newton, using logic, mathematics, and measurement to understand the laws of nature. It reinforces the library’s role as a guardian of knowledge, science, and intellectual progress, while subtly questioning what might be lost if reason dominates all else.
Cast in solid LG2 bronze by Maybrey Reliance and professionally patinated protecting the metal from deeper corrosion. Each brick comes with a numbered edition card.
Available for pre-order only from 14:00 on Thursday, 5th February 2026. Bricks will be cast in February, patinated in March, and dispatched in April 2026.
As with the other metal bricks, once they're gone, they're gone.
