TRUMAN BREWERY

One of our favourite East London landmarks is the historic Truman Brewery chimney sitting bang on Brick Lane. This 48-metre-high boiler house chimney was built from 1000 tonnes of brick. The founder, Sir Benjamin Truman, had the brewery name built into the side of the tower in white brick. Embedding these bricks into the fabric of the chimney means that even after years of repurpose and exposure to the elements the Truman brewery name still stands strong.
